A NEW FEMALE CONDOM IS ON THE WAY
When someone says “female condom,” you can practically hear the sad trombone that follows it.
I don’t know why this specific form of contraception has basically been relegated to the corner and slapped with a dunce’s hat, but it seems like no one takes it seriously (I’d say only dental dams have it worse). That’s a shame, since your sexual health—and that of your partners—is absolutely precious. The more options that make it easy to stay safe, the better. So you might rejoice over the newest female condom to come onto the scene because it, well, makes you come.
Design company IXu LLC has dreamed up a female condom equipped with a vibrating ring. Technology at its finest, eh? Ideally, this version of the contraceptive will keep your health in tip-top shape while also working like a champ to narrow that dreaded orgasm gap.
The condom, aptly named the VA w.o.w., brings wearable tech into the bedroom. A wireless-controlled vibrator is nestled onto the heart-shaped (aw, romantic!) outer portion of the condom while the rest of it slips inside you. The buzzing should wind up in the perfect position to nestle up against a woman’s clitoris during orgasm and hopefully lead to some explosive results.
Beyond the VA w.o.w, in its latest press release IXu makes a firm commitment to revolutionizing the world of female condoms as a whole. “This is a major step to speed up female condom innovation. We have definitive data showing female condoms with electronic vibe devices attached are extremely ‘agreeable’ to users,” IXu CEO Brian Osterberg tells PRWeb.
He’s referencing a study that shows by the fourth time using the device, 100 percent of the 50 women surveyed reached orgasm. There are a couple of caveats, namely that the study was funded by the company and that it was pretty small. Still, it’s encouraging news. Let’s cross our fingers it gets FDA approved so women have even more orgasm secret weapons!
