THE HATEFUL EIGHT (the review)

Get ready to walk into a minefield in a battle between intellects, as they exhibit courageous personalities, form shocking alliances, display longevity, comraderie and unflinching loyalty.

This is the stuff that legends are built upon.

This is one of those nerve rackingly brilliant stories that great writers watch and wish they’d come up with themselves.

I’m not going to dig deep into the plot but rather skit around it in order not to compromise the suspense that this movie is so beautifully built upon.

It starts out in a carriage in the middle of a blizzard.

Unique characters come together.

At first your curiosity builds but then you might get a bit lost in the long, deep conversations the characters embark upon. Listen to the conversation. Everything happens for a reason in this movie and builds up to a frenzied climax in the end.

You might get a little antsy as the story and dialogues drag on and you wonder where the movie is heading to.

Relax and enjoy every single second of the build-up. Your patience will pay off big time as the story unfolds.

This story will catapult you back in time to a place where Billy the kid and lone ranger once rampaged the wild wild west.

You can feel the pulse of the story as its heart beats and breathes life into every one of the characters as strange and odd alliances are formed and loyalties never betrayed.

The characters are so alive and so ‘real’ that you can almost reach out and touch the truth behind their reality. If feels as though this must be a true story.

And yet the setting is so simple and totally bereft of complexity.

The performance of each and every actor deserves an honorary award.

Indeed it was a spotless and fine cast.

Samuel L.Jackson, Kurt Russel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Walton Goggins, Channing Tatum, Lee Horsely…to mention a few…

A tip of the hat to the producers.

This movie is flawless, captivating, inspiring, blood pumping, exhilarating, and unique.

Watch ‘the hateful 8.’

Be astounded.

Bask in the hate.

Ratings: 9/10
